Principal's Corner

I'm so blessed to be part of the Cornelia Elementary School team. I have been working in education for 30 years. I retired from Habersham County Schools in July 2022 but was asked to come back and work at Cornelia Elementary this year. I'm a graduate from Western Carolina University with a BS in Early Childhood Education. North Georgia University was where I got my Masters in Middle School Education (Language Arts and Social Studies). I obtained my Specialist Degree in Early Childhood Education from Brenau University. I also have an add on certificate from the University of Georgia in Leadership and an add-on certificate in gifted Education.
Recently, I was principal at Hazel Grove Elementary. I've also been an assistant principal and academic coach in Habersham County. I have taught grades kindergarten through seventh grade. I also taught gifted education (K-5).
I was Hazel Grove and Woodville Elementary School's Teacher of the Year and was also Habersham County's Teacher of the Year. I've also been named Turner Broadcasting Super Teacher, Atlanta Journal Teacher Nominee, Sallie Mae First Year Teacher Nominee and Western Carolina University's Outstanding Prospective Teacher.
I enjoy working out and staying fit! I also enjoy working with our community as a member of the Habersham County Board of Commissioners Ethics Board.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if I can help you. My email is [email protected]com
